Kindergarten Programs

Lamb's Gate offers Kinder Bridge and Kindergarten classes. It is currently a combination class. The difference between learning occurs when the teacher works with the students in small groups. Differentiated instruction is used to challenge the students where they are at.

Kinder Bridge (Developmental Kindergarten)

Our Kinder Bridge class is a half day program (8:45 am to 12:00 pm) that meets five days a week. This unique program was started to give students one more year of development before they enter a full day kindergarten program.

It is a wonderful fit for students who turn five in the summer or early fall or for those who might benefit from a half day program over a full day program. Kinder Bridge uses Hooked on Phonics, Heggerty Phonemic Awareness, Saxon Math, and God's Design: Life for Beginners Science. Art and history are also incorporated as the students move their way through thematic units.

Kindergarten

Our full day kindergarten class meets Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This class uses the same curriculum as mentioned above (Hooked on Phonics, Heggerty Phonemic Awareness, Saxon Math, and God's Design: Life for Beginners Science) with an extra two hours of instruction.

These foundation curricula are coordinated with themed, teacher-planned lessons and a variety of supplementary activities. Learning is hands-on and highly integrated between subject areas.

*Kindergarten qualifies for tax credits through ACSTO and IBE, however, Kinder Bridge does not as it is not intended to be Kindergarten, but a bridge to kindergarten the following year.
